The Ultimate Guide to Kajabi Blog Settings: Optimizing Your Blog Settings for Maximum Visibility
As an online business owner using Kajabi, understanding and optimizing your blog settings is crucial for driving traffic to your site. When done correctly, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) can improve your rankings in search results, making it easier for potential customers to find your content.
If you’re new to Kajabi or looking to optimize your existing blog settings, you’re in the right place. As a Kajabi Expert and Online Business and Digital Marketing Strategist, I’m here to walk you through the key steps to ensure your blog settings are fully optimized for SEO, making it easier for your audience to find your content. By following these tips, you’ll not only improve your online visibility but also create a more engaging experience for your readers.
What is SEO and Why Does It Matter?
SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is all about making your website more visible on search engines. When someone searches for a keyword related to your business, you want your website to appear as high as possible in the search results. This increases the likelihood that someone will click on your website, ultimately driving more traffic and potential customers to your site.
Understanding Search Engine Results
A typical search engine results page (SERP) displays a list of links that match the search query. These results usually include three key elements:
- URL: The web address of the page.
- Page Title: The clickable headline for the result.
- Description: A brief snippet describing the content on the page.
By optimizing these elements for SEO, you increase your chances of ranking higher in search results for keywords that are relevant to your business. The higher your rank, the more traffic you’ll drive to your site, leading to better opportunities for conversions.

Setting Up Your Blog’s Name and Meta Description
When you're working on your Kajabi blog, it's important to focus on SEO and sharing settings to boost your visibility on search engines like Google. Every page, blog post, and even the blog itself has a dedicated section for SEO settings. Optimizing these settings correctly can significantly enhance your site traffic, which is a key factor in growing your online business.
Your Page Title, Description, and Social Image are the three main components that determine how your content appears on search engines and social media. Here's how you can make the most out of these settings:
- Page Title: The first thing you’ll need to do is decide on a name for your blog. This is the first thing people will see in the search results. It’s crucial to choose a name that is not only reflective of your content but also appealing to your target audience. The name should be concise and to the point, making it clear what your blog is about. It should clearly and accurately describe the content of your page or post. Remember, keep it concise—60 characters or less is ideal.
- Tips for an Effective Page Title:
- Describe your blog content in less than 70 characters.
- Include a relevant keyword.
- Ensure each page has a unique title.
- Tips for an Effective Page Title:
-
Page Description: This short meta description should be a brief summary of what your blog is about, ideally no more than 160 characters. This description will appear in search engine results and when your blog link is shared on social media, so make sure it’s compelling and includes a keyword that is relevant to your content. Think of it as a mini advertisement for your page.
-
Tips for an Effective Page Description:
- Summarize your blog content in 1-2 sentences.
- Include a relevant keyword.
- Ensure each page has a unique description.
-
-
Social Image:Another important aspect of your blog settings is the social image. This is the image that will be displayed when your blog link is shared on platforms like Facebook or Twitter. It’s important to choose an image that represents your blog well and is visually appealing. The recommended dimensions for this image are 1280x720 pixels. You can use free tools like Canva to create a professional-looking image. Make sure the image is high-quality and relevant to the content of your blog. A well-chosen image can make a big difference in how your blog is perceived on social media and can help attract more clicks.
-
Blog posts Page URL: Your page URL is the web address for your blog POSTS. This should be short, descriptive, and easy to read. Avoid using vague or random strings of numbers and letters. Instead, make sure your URL clearly indicates what the page is about.
Tips for an Effective Page URL:
- Keep it short and descriptive.
- Use hyphens to separate words, not underscores.
- Use lowercase letters only.
- Include a relevant keyword when possible.
Example:
- Blog Name: Online Business Success with Maria Cristal
- Meta Description: Learn the secrets to building a successful online business with expert tips on Kajabi, digital marketing, and more.
Quick Tip: If you don’t fill out these fields, Kajabi will default to using your page name as the title. While this is okay, it’s always better to customize these fields to maximize their effectiveness.
Previewing Your Blog Settings
Once you’ve set up your blog name, meta description, and social image, you can preview how your blog will look when it’s shared online. This is a great way to see if everything is displaying correctly and to make any necessary adjustments.
To preview, you can simply click the preview button in the blog settings. This will show you how your blog will appear when someone shares the link. You can also test this by copying your blog link and pasting it into a Facebook post to see how it pulls through the information.

SEO and Sharing for Your Website Pages
Some website pages on Kajabi are created automatically, and these pages don’t allow for unique SEO and Sharing sections to be customized individually. Instead, you need to manage these settings in the Site Details section found in your Kajabi settings. How to Access Your SEO and Sharing Settings:

Optimizing Images for SEO
Images play a significant role in SEO, and optimizing them properly can help your site rank better. Here’s how to ensure your images are SEO-friendly:

). - Alt Text: Provide a brief description of the image, including relevant keywords where appropriate. This is important for both accessibility and SEO.
- Image Size: Use tools like Squoosh or Compress JPEG to optimize image size without losing quality.
Writing Text for SEO
Quality content is the cornerstone of good SEO. Here’s how to make sure your text is optimized for search engines:
Tips for Optimizing Text for SEO:
- Long-Form Content: Aim for content over 2,000 words when possible, as longer content tends to rank better.
- Keyword Placement: Include relevant keywords throughout your content, but avoid keyword stuffing.

Submitting Your Sitemap: A Step-by-Step Guide for Kajabi Users
When you're serious about getting your Kajabi site noticed by search engines, submitting a sitemap is a valuable step. A sitemap helps search engines like Google and Bing index all the pages on your website, making it easier for your content to be discovered by potential customers. While it’s not strictly required, submitting your sitemap can improve your visibility and ensure that your site is fully indexed.
Why Submit a Sitemap?
A sitemap serves as a blueprint of your website that search engines use to navigate through your content. By submitting your sitemap, you’re essentially giving search engines a map of your site’s structure, which helps them understand and index your pages more effectively. This can lead to better search engine rankings and, ultimately, more traffic to your site.
Submitting Your Sitemap to Google
Google is the most popular search engine, so it's crucial to submit your sitemap here first. Follow these steps to get started:
-
Log in to Google Search Console: Visit Google Search Console. You’ll need a Google account to proceed.
-
Enter Your Domain Name: In the URL Prefix field, type in your full domain name (e.g., https://www.example.com) and click Continue.
-
Verify Your Domain: You can verify your domain using several methods, but the HTML tag method is straightforward.
- Click HTML tag.
- Copy the meta tag provided.
-
Add the Meta Tag in Kajabi:

Complete the Process in Google Search Console:
- Go back to Google Search Console and click Verify.
- Once verified, click Go to Property.
- Select Sitemaps from the sidebar.
- Enter
sitemap.xml
in the text field and click Submit.
Submitting Your Sitemap to Bing
Bing may not be as popular as Google, but it’s still used by a significant number of people, and it’s important to cover all your bases. Here’s how to submit your sitemap to Bing:
-
Log in to Bing Webmaster Tools: Visit Bing Webmasters Tools and click Get started or Login. You can use a Microsoft, Google, or Facebook account to log in.
-
Add Your Site Manually:
- In the "Add your site manually" field, enter your full domain name (e.g., https://www.example.com) and click Add.
-
Verify Your Domain:
- Choose the HTML Meta Tag method.
- Copy the meta tag provided.
-
Add the Meta Tag in Kajabi:
- Log in to Kajabi and go to the Settings tab.
- Click Site Details.
- Scroll to Page Scripts and paste the meta tag into the Header Page Scripts field.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
-
Complete the Process in Bing Webmaster Tools:
- Go back to Bing Webmaster Tools and click Verify.
- If successful, you’ll see a message saying, "Site added successfully."
- Click Done.
- Navigate to Sitemaps on the left sidebar.
- Click Submit sitemap.
- Enter your full domain name followed by
/sitemap.xml
. - Click Submit.
By submitting your sitemap to Google and Bing, you're ensuring that your site is fully indexed by the two largest search engines. Keep in mind that when you submit to Bing, it also covers Yahoo, and DuckDuckGo references Bing's search results, so you’re really submitting to multiple platforms at once. Depending on your audience's location, you might also consider submitting your sitemap to search engines like Yandex or Baidu.
Debugging Social Sharing Issues: Ensuring Your Content Displays Correctly
When you’re sharing content from your Kajabi site on social media, you want it to look perfect—complete with the correct image, title, and description. But sometimes, social platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn don’t immediately display your content as intended. This is where debugging tools come into play.
What to Do When Your Social Image Doesn’t Show Up
Let’s say you’ve set up your blog or landing page on Kajabi, added a social image, and filled in all the necessary SEO fields. But when you paste the link on Facebook, the image doesn’t show up, or the old information is still displaying. Here’s how you can fix it:
Using the Facebook Debugger Tool
If you’ve added a description and an image on Kajabi, but it’s not showing correctly on Facebook, you can use the Facebook Debugger tool to refresh the data.
Steps to Use Facebook Debugger:
- Visit the Facebook Debugger Tool.
- Paste your URL into the field and click Debug.
- After debugging, click Scrape Again. This will force Facebook to update the image, title, and description.
- Now, go back to Facebook, refresh the page, and paste the link again. You should see the correct image and description.
By doing this, you ensure that the information displayed on Facebook matches exactly what you’ve set in Kajabi. This tool is invaluable when you make changes to your site and want them reflected immediately on social media.
Debugging on Twitter
Twitter has a similar tool called the Twitter Card Validator. This tool lets you refresh Twitter’s cache, so your updated content displays correctly when shared.
Steps to Use Twitter Card Validator:
- Visit the Twitter Card Validator.
- Paste your URL into the field and click Preview Card.
- If there are issues, this tool will highlight them and allow you to make necessary adjustments.
Using LinkedIn’s Post Inspector
For LinkedIn, you can use the Post Inspector tool to update how your content is displayed when shared.
Steps to Use LinkedIn’s Post Inspector:
- Go to the LinkedIn Post Inspector Tool.
- Enter your URL into the text field at the top of the page.
- Click Inspect. This will force LinkedIn to refresh the preview of your link.
AddThis Rescraping Tool
If you’re using AddThis for social sharing, they also have a rescraping tool to ensure your content is up to date.
Steps to Use AddThis Rescraping Tool:
- Log in to your AddThis account.
- Navigate to the Rescrape URLs tool under the profile options.
- Enter your URL and rescrape it, or contact AddThis support for assistance.
By using these tools, you can ensure that your content displays correctly across all major social platforms, making your brand look polished and professional.
Ensuring that your content displays correctly on social media is crucial for maintaining a strong online presence. By using the debugging tools provided by Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and AddThis, you can quickly resolve any issues and keep your content looking sharp.
